AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
